Extracurricular Activities
Extracurricular Activities (Early Years)
Functional Psychomotricity: This engaging activity uses movement to help children develop their physical, sensory, emotional, social, and cognitive skills. Through playful activities, children integrate these elements, creating a strong foundation for future learning.
Music in English: Rhythm, melody, and movement combine to enhance children’s listening skills, coordination, and memory. This fun and creative course sparks curiosity and introduces them to a new language in an engaging way.
Musical: Playful exercises in improvisation and interpretation encourage children to explore their voices and bodies while using English naturally and spontaneously.
Extracurricular Activities (Primary)
From 4:00 pm, children can choose from a variety of optional activities designed to broaden their horizons beyond the traditional curriculum, fostering new skills and interests.
Swimming: Our most popular activity takes place at the Libertas SAFA pool (with whom we have a longstanding partnership). Children travel by private minibus under the supervision of our staff, who also oversee them during changing. Qualified swimming instructors lead their lessons in the pool. After swimming, children can either be collected from the pool or return to school.
Language Lab: After a healthy snack, children can opt for additional language learning in either English or French.
English: Led by a native speaker (Nick), these courses offer thorough preparation for Cambridge exams:
- Starters: Level A1 (Year 3*)
- Movers: Level A1 (Year 4*)
- Flyers: Level A2 (Year 5*)
- KEY: Level A2/B1 (Year 5*)
Each lesson lasts 90 minutes. After the class, children can either attend after-school care or go home. Our school is an official examination centre for levels A1, A2, KEY (A2/B1), and the first band of competence (A-base).
For younger children (Years 1 and 2), the FUN course helps them develop language skills and communication abilities in English through interactive and enjoyable activities.
French: Led by native speaker Eva, these courses prepare children for DELF certifications. Additionally, children can participate in a weekly conversation workshop to improve their vocabulary and communication skills.
For Year 5, we offer a dedicated course to achieve level A2 in French, with weekly 90-minute lessons.
Guitar Course: Held on Thursday afternoons, this course introduces children to the world of music through fun and engaging activities. They will learn to read and play simple music, develop their sense of rhythm, sing and play melodies together, and learn basic chords. Performing in small groups fosters teamwork, communication, and a positive learning environment, allowing each child to express themselves and develop their musical talents.
Summer Camp
During the first week of summer school, teachers Nick and Alessandra lead a 7-night residential trip to the Kinka village in Pragelato. This entirely English-speaking camp offers a unique opportunity for children to improve their language skills while enjoying a range of activities, including climbing, archery, tennis, trampolining, swimming, football, horse riding, and more. This immersive experience not only strengthens their language skills but also promotes independence, teamwork, and communication. The camp is open to both Montessori and non-Montessori students.
